SPIDER WEBB

(Various Media)

Spider Webb's work can be seen on thousands of people everywhere. He studied at the Art Student's League in New York City, and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and his Master of Fine Arts from the University of Guanajuato, Mexico. Thus far, fifteen of his books have been published, including Military Flash. In the 1960's Spider Webb thrust tattooed bodies into the limelight and helped legitimize the art with his book PUSHING INK --The Fine Art of Tattooing.

When not swimming with the Coney Island Polar Bears, he spends his time at his lakefront home in Connecticut, painting, preparing his next book, designing one-of-a-kind tattoo machines, and inventing new ways to create beautiful art. Spider has lectured internationally, and his paintings, sculptures and photographs have been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world. The most recent showing of his unique machines was at the Museum of Natural History, NYC 1999-2000.
